Descriptions

Strategy suitability assessment is done as part of evaluating and developing the sourcing approach. 
The objective of this exercise it to assess all the “best- fit” approaches and testing them for suitability for the government environment, 
feasibility of successful implementation and the acceptability of the strategy to the stakeholders.
Objective:

To assess all the “best-fit” approaches and testing them for suitability for the government environment, 

feasibility of successful implementation and the acceptability of the strategy to the stakeholders.

Output:
  • List of suitable, feasible and acceptable sourcing options
ASSESS AND SELECT STRATEGIC OPTIONS
The suitability and feasibility of the selected “Best-fit” sourcing options identified in the previous exercise still has to pass a “government filter” 
which will look at the procurement legislative framework.  Not all identified sourcing options is suitable for the government environment.  
Sourcing strategies should aim to achieve and/or enable overall government objectives, such as local procurement, 
achieving broad- based black economic empowerment, local economic development, upliftment of SMME’s, 
and many other socio- economic objectives.
